Autopilot testing introduction
UAS-X1
is controlled by an open autopilot platform - ArduPilot 2.0. Before
mounting the platform to the physical model, autopilot operation will
be tested in a computer simulation. It allows to correct or avoid errors
resulting from incorrect hardware connection, inaccurate calibration or
wrongly matched controller coefficients.

In our work we use 'hardware-in-the-loop' simulation. In this way we will verify both autopilot hardware and software.
